We recently sat down with Luke from Wise Boys to talk plant-based menu items over a vegan shake (two straws).
Luke is the co-founder of Wise Boys, the plant-based burger place in Auckland that’s popular with vegans, flexitarians and everyone else. The Wise Boys team have been nice enough to include Boring in their vegan shakes since ages ago.
Kia ora, I’m great. Although I’m a bit pooped from looking after my two babies (Wise Boys and a one year old human).
Realising that what we eat can make such a difference, but having absolutely zero hospitality experience leaves you with only a few options… We thought making delicious vege burgers can’t be that hard. We were very wrong, but turns out naiveté and a bit of a resilience can get you a long way.
We’re keen to keep making vegan food more enjoyable and accessible. So more burgers, some new interesting sides, and more spots around the country is the plan.
Sourdough, avo, tomato, smoky mustard. Boom.
Potatoes in just about any form are my favourite food, but I’ve never been able to get on board with potato topped pies – they’re a travesty!
I’m on a strict music-only diet.
